I wonder if it was Eric or D Aderso that broke the websites :-) the alternate URL for this site is still broken too. The Server Issues / Outages Thread - Panic Mode On! (119) I have managed to get the HDD out of the Dell Mini 10, and I have a USB drive caddy to try to recover data from it. I'm concentrating on 2 working netbooks for now. The Dell also appears to use the same charger, but it tries to power on for a few seconds, then shuts down. I currently have one charger between 2 working netbooks. I think others have experienced the same issue. It doesn't update correctly on my Samsung, or Acer One. One annoying thing that I'm trying to fix is the powerapplet_tray. The missing status of his forums makes it difficult when I try to find an answer online, as many Google searches point to The last ones that I was aware of expired today, so if we still had the database running it would probably have just reached zero Tasks In ProgressĪpparently he was an active member of the Linux development community. The last tasks that I was aware of have just timed outĪs we know, nothing has updated since 16 June, but I was monitoring the timeouts and late returns. Maybe someone's spelling or grammar checker has gone into Safe _ode or HIBERATION It looks like David A_derso_ is not the only one that has difficulty with proof reading importat web pages and articles ! I have used the YUMI creator from Windows 7, but I no longer have a working Win 7 system, I do have working Windows 10 and XP systems, and also several different Android tablets and phones. I am probably missing something obvious, but I just need a way to create a single or preferably multi boot Linux USB boot drive under Linux My current problem is creating a Lubuntu boot USB from Puppy. ![]() I have about 6 or 7 different USB thumb drives and SD cards of various sizes from 1gb up to 64gb. I have heard of Lubuntu, and downloaded 2 different 64bit versions, but I am still having problems with creating a multi boot, or single boot installer on USB. I subsequently wiped it again because of problems with the boot loader. It runs very slowly in 1gb RAM, and I haven't been able to get the correct display resolution. I originally tried to get Ubuntu running on the same drive as Puppy on different partitions, but something didn't want to play, so I eventually wiped all the partitions and did a clean install. I have also downloaded 64bit Ubuntu 20.04Īfter countless install attempts, I eventually managed to get 800圆00 screen resolution, and very quiet sounds. The CPU is 64bit capable, so I tried to install the 64bit version of Puppy, without much success. I can boot Puppy 32bit successfully, with working sound and correct screen resolution. OK, I've been concentrating on the Aspire One 533 for the last few days. I can't find a logfile to copy, could I create one by running in Terminal or Console ? There are about 20 lines of error reports, but the popup window can't be expanded or the content copied !Īt the end I just have Cancel or Retry buttons ! I've tried putting the app and the image file in the same directory.Įtcher loads, I select the ISO, select a writeable Flash Drive with enough space. I'm going to look for a Log File, and also try to install again so that I am not missing dependencies. I have downloaded Etcher for 32bit Linux, I see that it's also available for Winįirst run I seem to be missing a dependency.Īt least I'm getting an error message, but the window is too small to see the complete message, with no way to enlarge it ! Trying to get BOINC running on a few old netbooks under Linux. Voyager 2 is back online after eight months of radio silenceĭon't know where it should go?
